I live in the Bay Area and I wanted to have a very small, intimate wedding in south Lake Tahoe. I found Rojos through google, and liked the pictures of the basement/bar so I went with my gut and called Joe to book it. Joe was more than happy to comply with every little detail I had in mind, including holding the ceremony there and decorating the day before however I wanted. His staff was amazing, including his son Isaiah, and the bartender, Bill, who remembered every single persons name in attendance.... Which made it super personable. I had made playlists on my phone for the entire wedding and they had a plug in for their system which made it really easy! The drinks were most definitely fairly priced and perfectly made. The food was AMAZING. The two dishes we had were prime rib and salmon with a lemon caper sauce. Cooked to perfection. And I'm not just saying that, every guest told me the food was great! The entire celebration went on without any problems or snags. I want to thank you all again at Rojos, for making my day so perfect!

I went to clair n.'s beautiful wedding at rojos. The hospitality the staff showed us was overwhelming. The owner and his son were our bartenders and they did an excellent job

Can't tell you how happy i was that they treated the couple and our family with such respect and made the day amazing. Wouldn't have been the same without the great staff there. I would recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to go back for the 1 year anniversary. Can't say enough- plan your next party here. Wish I lived close enough to plan my xmas party here :)

Rojo's is a local South Lake Tahoe institution with a long history, I found it interesting to learn that they are one of the oldest freestanding restaurants in town, going back almost a hundred years. The wooden décor looks like it hasn't changed in a while, but still keeps that dark classic charm of a small town restaurant which preserves the fun.

The BBQ baby back ribs are amazing here and a MUST try. They take a while to prepare, but come out piping hot from the broiler, which to me always makes them juicier and much more tender than some pure BBQ places which have them sitting around in a warmer where they inevitably end up served dried out and at room temperature.

If you have time after dinner, ask the bar manager if he will let you check out the downstairs basement bar which I think they only open up for special occasions, and you will feel like you are stepping back in time to the prohibition age... ahh the good old days are here again.

Diamond in the rough!

The food here is delicious, you need to try the tempura sampler. The drinks were very strong, which i also like - along with a great happy hour price. I ordered a steak sandwich made with garlic bread, so worth the $20. It was huge and came with a side of tempura.

ANOTHER PLUS, I came here on a Tuesday night which so happens to be Karaoke night. These people don't play, they take their karaoke very seriously - not to mention a very good selection of songs AND prizes for the best performance.

Great for a nice out with friends. Eat, get drunk, and sing some N'sync or Shania Twain on Karaoke = perfect night.

Super friendly staff and great food!

We just had our wedding reception here and it was awesome.  The private room downstairs is a perfect intimate spot for a party.  We had a blast.  Joel was incredibly accomodating with everything we wanted.  He went above and beyond to adjust the menu for us.  Our party was 35 people and there was room for more.   The ribs and the chicken were cooked perfectly.  I couldn't have picked a better spot. Thanks Joel!
